i couldn’t pose this if i wanted to

the dog. what can i say? he’s fickle and funny, and sometimes a pain in the ass. he loves his toys, and recently has not been quite as destructive with them.

this sheep is one example of that. he now has 3 stuffed toys that he has not destroyed and sometimes carries around with him.

stolen pillow, stuffed animal, silly dog

on this night a week or so ago, he brought his stuffed sheep up on the bed, stole my pillow, and promptly fell asleep.

how do you move an 85lb black lab off your pillow? gingerly.

and for the record, he does not sleep on the bed with us. he’s a dog. he sleeps on the floor at night. but as long as we’re not asleep in the bed, he’s welcome to it.

silly old dog.

Baron was eight last September. He has never learned to not destroy plush toys so I don’t purchase them for him anymore. (He has a gf up in Spenser, Mass though who sends him plush toys periodically that he shreds in an hour or two.)

There is but one exception. When his trainer from International Hearing Dog Incorporated brought Baron to my home, she brought one plush toy for him. It is a blue dragon with a yellow horn. Baron promptly chewed the yellow horn off of it but did no further damage. Now nearly seven-and-a-half years later, that blue dragon plush toy still sits in a corner of the family room. Every few months, Baron will “discover” it, bring it into the parlour, bite heartily on it several times and then ignore it for several more months.

No idea why. I don’t anthropomorphize so this behavior is without any explanation.

And Baron gets into some cute poses too. Only being a hearing dog, he’s a light sleeper and always listening. The sound of the camera’s auto focus lens wakes him and he’s up on his feet before I can snap the shutter. Oh well.

    Silly dog ~;-)

So when does this happen for dogs? ?When did Dolby stop destroying all his toys? I can’t wait.

Townsend’s already been through 3. A duck. A teddy human. And a big stuffed bone.
