Excellent piece. This word needs to be spread far and wide.

And at the risk of sounding paranoid, I’ll continue to advance my nutty notion that Chucky Cheese and similar emporiums are the gaming industry’s means of hooking yet another generation on their rapacious, brain-destroying “entertainment.”

I hate gambling more than you hate President Logan.

It wouldn’t surprise me if two of those blue haired ladies were my grandma and great grandma. They go several times a week. g-ma used to go to bingo but “she got tired of their crap” and spends all her time and money at the boats.
I know the few times I went to Bingo with her I loved/hated it. I won a couple hundred bucks once but I hated that feeling of so desperately wishing for your numbers to be called and wanting it to be your destiny and then the extreme disappointment when someone else yelled “BINGO!”. I wanna be happy for those people not mad at them or the callers or the numbers or whatever! I know that gambling is not for me!

Dude, I miss you guys. (Thought I’d start there) The lure of easy money. Even if someone does get lucky and leaves one of those joints with more money than they arrived with (which I have done a few times), they inevitbly spend that money and cannot even recall where it was spent nor do they have anything to show for it(again, I must confess that experience is speaking here).

They probably enjoy the rush of the “what if I win” possibility. And the reason they go for slots is because they are so self-absorbed they just don’t want to interact with anyone. Sad really.

I’m not a fan of gambling but my husband enjoys Let It Ride when we’re in Vegas. And though I don’t like to think of the losses (which they’re haven’t been many really), at least this game is much more interactive and fun because of who’s at the table with you. Throw in the “free” drinks from scantily clad, large-busted waitresses and things get even more entertaining. ;)

I do not know the excitment either, but the parents of the girl I look after go 3 or 4 times a week… I do not understand, nor do I know where the money to do so comes from… I do not believe I will make it a hobby or past time of my own…

i can’t really gamble, well maybe, but hey, if you have a lot of money and wanna throw it away why not do it the quickest way possilbe. don’t know what to tell you, but hopefully you got the ALL YOU CAN EAT ribs because they’re amazing.
